We would rather you ask than quietly resent paying. This policy is short, and it is meant to be read before you need it.
If you are paying for DearFam AI for the first time and it is not what you hoped, write to us within 14 days of the charge and we will refund it in full. You do not need to give a reason. You do not need to have used it "properly".
If a renewal charge took you by surprise, write to us within 7 days of that charge and we will refund it in full, provided the account has not been refunded before on a renewal.
Beyond those windows we do not normally refund a period you have already paid for, but you can always stop the next one:
If you were charged twice, charged after cancelling, charged the wrong amount, or the service was unavailable for a long stretch through our fault, we refund it — regardless of the windows above, and we will not make you argue for it.
Email support@dearfamai.com from the address on the account, with the word "refund" and the approximate date. That is enough. If you cannot get into the account, tell us the email you used and we will find it.
| Step | Time |
|---|---|
| We reply | Within 2 business days |
| We issue the refund | Within 5 business days of agreeing |
| It appears on your statement | Usually 5–10 business days, depending on your bank |
Refunds go back to the card that was charged. We cannot send a refund to a different card or to an account in someone else's name.
We will not refund an account that has repeatedly subscribed and refunded as a way of getting the service free. In that case we may decline and close the account — but we will tell you plainly why, and you can still export your family's records first.
If the law where you live gives you a stronger right to cancel or to a refund — for example the 14-day right of withdrawal for digital services in the EU and the UK — that right applies in addition to this policy, not instead of it.
